According to the competition regulations, Real Madrid (reigning champions of the Champions League) qualified by right to the final. Pachuca, who triumphed in the CONCACAF Champions League in 2024, instead had to overcome two opponents: first the Brazilians Botafogo and then the Egyptians Al Ahly.
The final of the Intercontinental Cup between Real Madrid and Pachuca is scheduled for late afternoon today, Wednesday 18 December 2024, at the Lusail Stadium in Lusail, Qatar: the match will kick off at 6.00 pm Italian time, i.e. 8.00pm local.
