Hands-on images of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra have appeared more than once, and they’ve also given us a look at Samsung’s next major operating system update: One UI 7.0. As anticipated, the phone’s camera module receives a minor redesign. A new leak claims that this will also come to the Galaxy S25 Plus. This isn’t exactly a secret, as it was revealed by CAD Renders earlier this year.
Leaker X @Jukanlosreve showed off Samsung’s mid-range offering through some real images. Here we can see the vertically aligned (and slightly thicker) camera modules covered by tape. At the front, there appears to be a notch-like structure, which is, again, likely tape. An image from the phone’s Settings app confirms that it is indeed the Galaxy S25 Plus (SM-S936U). The ‘U’ in its name confirms that the Galaxy S25 Plus will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, and not an Exynos 2500 as previously suggested by multiple Geekbench.
Although Samsung has not yet abandoned its next-generation Exynos chip, it will debut only in the second half of 2025 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Below the power button and volume rocker, we see an intriguing piece of metal which, at first glance, resembles a capacitive camera slider, like the one found on the AppleiPhone 16. However, the leaker claims that the Galaxy S25 Plus will not have this feature and that it will instead it is a mm Wave radio.
As for its internals, the Galaxy S25 Plus will offer largely incremental upgrades over the Galaxy S24 Plus model. The 120Hz 1440p screen is expected to remain unchanged, maximum RAM is still 12GB, and battery capacity remains stagnant. Fortunately, a corresponding price increase is not expected at least in one market.
