STRASBOURG – “The Group of Conservatives and Reformists welcomes two new members: Diego Solier Fernández and Nora Junco García”. This was announced in a press release announcing the entry “as individual members” of these MEPs, two of the three in total elected with ‘The Party is over’the party led by Alvise Pérez, who instead remains in the ranks of the non-members.
“The Group of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) in the European Parliament has welcomed into its ranks the Spanish MEPs Diego Solier Fernández and Nora Junco García. Both join the Group as individual members. Their arrival reinforces the commitment of the Ecr group for economic freedom, sovereignty, lean government and good governance. The addition brings the total number of ECE MEPs to 80, the fourth largest political group in the European Parliament.
Diego Solier Fernandez – the note continues – he is a technical engineer in information systems. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a diploma in project management. Nora Junco García is a businesswoman and entrepreneur who has successfully run businesses in the real estate development, hospitality and creative production industries. His leadership and innovation bring a new perspective to the Group. Nicola Procaccinico-president of the Ecr Group, underlined the importance of these new appointments. “We are pleased to welcome Diego Solier and Nora Junco García to our Group, they bring not only valuable experience, but also a clear vision of a strong and free Europe: their membership will undoubtedly enrich our work in the European Parliament”, he said.
The ECR Group remains firm in its principle that “Europe should do less, but do it better”. The co-president of the Ecr Group, Patryk Jakiadded: “With Diego Solier and Nora Junco García, the Ecr Group acquires two extraordinary people whose experience and commitment exemplify the values we uphold, their dedication to promoting innovation, responsibility and a Europe founded on practical solutions will further strengthen our work and advocacy for citizen-centred policies.”
Patryk Jaki has been elected as the new co-president: he will lead the group together with co-president Nicola Procaccini. Patryk Tomasz Jaki, 39, a political scientist and university professor with a doctorate in security studies, is vice president of the party Law and Justice in Poland. A prominent figure in Polish and European politics, he was a member of the Sejm, the Polish lower house, from 2011 to 2019. Between 2015 and 2019 he held the position of Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Justice. Since 2019 he has been a member of the European Parliament.
