A poker of aces, one goal better than the other to banish the post-2-2 controversy with Venezia in the championship. In the round of 16 of the Italian Cup, Juventus beat Cagliari 4-0 with goals (all fabulous) from Vlahovic, Koopmeiners, Francisco Conceição and Nico Gonzalez. Thiago Motta’s Bianconeri who, now, in the Quarterfinals, will meet Empoli again at the Allianz Stadium. A spectacular performance on an evening that made the Juventus fans wrinkle their eyes, as they had already made peace with Dusan Vlahovic before kick-off, after the “on-pitch” arguments.

The match report in 17 moments
1′ – IMMEDIATELY MIRACLE FROM DI GREGORIO! From the right, a low cross from Zappa to Lapadula who slides in with a sure shot: the former Monza goalkeeper providentially blocks with his feet!
12′ – RIGHT ROUND LOW BY YILDIZ! It’s a cross shot aimed at Vlahovic, who however doesn’t get along with his Turkish teammate. Ball just wide!
13′ – VLAHOVIC! On Koopmeiners’ low shot which hits Wieteska’s feet, the Serbian striker finds himself at the edge of the small area and face to face with Scuffet: left foot crossed high not by much.
28′ – VERY DANGEROUS FRANCISCO CONCEIÇÃO! Augello chases him, but the Portuguese unleashes – from the edge – a low left-footed shot that grazes the post!
34′ – MBANGULA! Feint and counter-feint in the area following a suggestion from Khéphren Thuram and a shot – almost like a five-a-side shot – just over!
36′ – FRANCISCO CONCEIÇÃO AGAIN! Another left-footed shot from the edge, this time much more powerful: Scuffet lifts the ball over the crossbar!
44′ – JUVENTUS GOAL WITH VLAHOVIC! Real bomber net! Mbangula, in the area, leaves the ball to Yildiz, who advances from the left-footed top and passes for the Serbian striker, capable of pivoting on Wieteska in the marking and turning with a deadly low shot: inside post and goal to make it 1-0!

53′ – JUVENTUS GOAL WITH KOOPMEINERS! From a free kick, a left-footed shot from 27 metres: the ball flies over the barrier and suddenly drops below seven. Saveable trajectory for Scuffet and 2-0!

55′ – GOAL CANCELLED FOR JUVENTUS WITH VLAHOVIC! Touch under to go over Scuffet from Képhren Thuram’s long ball. The Serbian attacker, however, had started ahead of Palomino. Offside.
58′ – TIGHT RIGHT LOW DROP BY FRANCISCO CONCEIÇÃO! The ball thus becomes a cross for Vlahovic, who doesn’t reach the ball!
64′ – VLAHOVIC ONE-TO-FACE WITH SCUFFET ON A VERTICALISATION BY McKENNIE! Low left foot strangled and the ball goes wide, but an excellent chance.
68′ – HEADER FROM A FEW STEPS BY NEW SUBMITTER NICO GONZALEZ ON THE DEVELOPMENTS OF A JUVENILE CORNER! The ball goes just wide, with a deflection from Lapadula that the referees don’t notice!
71′ – SECOND GOAL CANCELLED FOR VLAHOVIC AND, AGAIN, NOTHING 3-0 JUVE! On a left-footed shot into the area by Francisco Conceição, the Serbian attacker’s winning header into an empty net, but again offside.
77′ – VLAHOVIC MAKES IT 3-0! The ball attacker wins the ball under pressure from Deiola but, in discarding Scuffet, he widens excessively and then finishes on the outside of the net.
80′ – GOAL FROM JUVENTUS WITH FRANCISCO CONCEÇAO! Nico Gonzalez passes the ball inside to the Portuguese elf, who points to Palomino in the area and beats Scuffet (after trying all the way down the left) with a low left-footed shot from a very angled angle!

89′ – JUVENTUS GOAL WITH NICO GONZALEZ! The former Fiorentina player receives from Weah in his own half and sets off at full speed, evades Wieteska and Palomino, and then scores with a delightful touch underneath: 4-0!
90’+1 – MEADOWS FOR CAGLIARI AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE PENALTY AREA! Powerful right hand controlled in two stages by Di Gregorio!
The best
F. Conceição. He was sent off in the championship with Cagliari. He takes revenge by driving the Sardinians’ left wing completely crazy. It is the Portuguese who gives Juve a shock, timid at the start. Then, again, after the 2-0 he shows off infinite energy, and tries in every way to score the third. And after two great saves from Scuffet, and a few hasty attempts, he finally manages to break his two-month fast

The worst
Wietska. He approached the challenge with Vlahovic with courage and also proved invaluable in blocking Yildiz’s shot. But what follows has the traits of a meltdown: Vlahovic scores by shooting between his legs, then ruins it on Yildiz, giving Koopmeiners the free kick to make it 2-0.
