The world of cinema is in mourning. Marisa Paredes died at the age of 78. The Spanish actress became famous throughout the world for being a muse of Pedro Almodovarwith whom he collaborated in many very successful films. In her career which lasted 60 years she acted in many films and was also President of the Film Academy and Goya of honor in 2018. She was certainly one of the most loved Spanish actresses in the whole country, who today also mourns her with the words of the Spanish prime minister who decided to say goodbye to her on behalf of all the Hispanic people.

She was president of the Film Academy and received the Goya of Honor in 2018”, this is the announcement of the Spanish Film Academy.

Marisa Paredes she was born in Madrid on 3 April 1946. She began her career in the early sixties, after studying at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts: she worked in theatre, television and cinema. In the seventies he was also part of the cast of several telenovelas. The great success, however, came in the 1980s, thanks to the collaboration with Pedro Almodovar. He worked with the Spanish director on numerous films: The indiscreet charm of sin (1983), Stiletto heels (1991), The flower of my secret (1995), All about my mother (1999), Talk to her (2002) e The skin I live in (2011).

Also worked with Marcello Mastroianni in Three lives and only one death and participated in two Oscar-winning film: Life is beautiful by Roberto Benigni e All about my mother by Pedro Almodovar. At the EuropaCinema & TV International Festival he received the Lifetime Achievement Award, while in 2008 he was part of the cast of the film Maria Sole Tognazzi The man she loves.

Marisa Paredes was married to the director Antonio Isasi-Isasmendiwith whom she had a daughter, Maria, born on 29 September 1975: she is also an actress.
