“This fifteen-year-old teenager is unknown to the police and justice services,” indicated the public prosecutor in this press conference organized this Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the judicial city of Limoges.

“He was first heard as a witness from 7:50 p.m. on Saturday evening, those close to Inès having managed to identify his contacts on Snapchat, and if he initially denied his involvement, he was placed in police custody at 8:45 p.m. The suspect finally quickly admitted to being involved in Inès’ death. He said he had spoken with Inès on the bus on several occasions, and had exchanged with her on social networks. in the week preceding the death, and agreed to meet her on Friday the 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the bus stop located near the town’s judo hall”, said the prosecutor.

She continues by indicating that “around 1 a.m., during the night from Saturday to Sunday, it was he who led investigators to the scene of the discovery of the teenage girl’s body in an undergrowth and he also indicated where found the kitchen knife hidden behind a rock near the body.

Émilie Abrantes also clarified “that an autopsy will be carried out this Tuesday morning to find out the exact injuries on Inès’ body, but that the first findings show several defense lesions and wounds under the left breast and in the back, with around forty wounds including some deep. The minor accused explained that he wanted to steal Inès’ phone by pretending to want to give her a friend’s gift, a jewelry box. He declared that he wanted to intimidate Inès with the knife, but that she didn’t. this is debated, and managed to call his sister, and it was there, panicked, that he stabbed her several times for fear that her cries would raise the alarm. He then got rid of the phone. in the cellar of a building where it was found extinguished.

She adds “that Inès’ body was not undressed when it was found”.

The minor accused was presented to the investigating judge for “violent robbery resulting in death” and the prosecution requested his placement in pre-trial detention.

Finally, at the conclusion of her press conference, after the rumors which circulated last weekend around this affair, the prosecutor affirmed that “both out of respect for Inès’ family and for the continuation of the investigations, it is essential that the investigating magistrate can calmly continue the conduct of this judicial investigation.”
