Vicenza-Trento: traditions on the day of Saint Lucia

The match between Vicenza and Trento, played on 13 December 2024 at the “Menti”, saw the hosts prevail with a clear 3-0 with a hat-trick from Cobra Alex Rolfini. A cold evening not only for the harsh climate that accompanied the match, but also for the performance of the Trentino players, who appeared subdued compared to the red and whites and who certainly did not warm up their accompanying fans. The cold had its impact, also leaving many season ticket holders from Vicenza at home. However, those who were present made their voices heard, demonstrating once again the passion that has always distinguished this fan base. The Curva Sud Berica stood out for its incessant cheering, both in the first and second half, accompanied by excellent flag waving and smoke displays which made the support even more spectacular. Also noteworthy is the contribution of Very faithfulalways recognizable and active, and of the group San Bortolopositioned high up in the sections towards the guest segment, which also managed to get noticed for its participation.

On the opposite side, there were around a hundred Trentino fans. A limited number but which still gave rise to honest and united support. There Curva Maier was represented by New Guardwith the banner clearly visible and with the patch Beware of Trento. There was good support for the team with constant chants throughout the match, demonstrating good organisation. Despite the cold and the absence of the groups South Curvethose present were able to maintain a good intensity, making their support noteworthy. In addition to this, the people of Trentino displayed an ironic banner with the words: “We respect traditions. Viva Santa Lucia”, in which the veiled reference to the date of 12/13 is inevitably associated with the well-known acronym against the police.

Thus ends this match in which Trento suffered their second consecutive defeat, confirming a not exactly exciting period, while Vicenza, having recovered from the setback suffered last Sunday in Trieste, resumes the chase towards a Padova team which however dominates the championship without signs of failure.
