It is again a Nigerian, as in 2023, who was crowned “African Golden Ball” or simply African Player of the Year 2024, in the person of Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta Bergamo striker. He thus succeeds his compatriot Victor Osimhen on the list.
The trophy ceremony took place in Marrakech, Morocco. Therefore we can well imagine the frustration of the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, defense which was nevertheless given as favorite.

For her part, the Zambian Barbra Banda won the women’s title, while the Ivorian Emerse Faé was crowned best African coach of the year.
