Two days after the quintuple murder in Wormhout and Loon-Plage, the suspect's motivations remain unknown. His police custody was extended by 48 hours This Monday, the gendarmes from the Lille research section are trying to clarify the circumstances, and especially the motivations for his action. At the same time, we learn that the 22-year-old young man had gone to the company which employed the two security guardsbut he never met them.
He had spent four months in the security company
“It’s a terrible shock, a terrible tragedy, everything leaves us incomprehensible”breathes the founder of the company Eamus cork security based in Craywick, Patrick Guerbette. The young man moved to one of the group's companies a year and a half ago, as part of a professionalization contract. This company no longer exists today. “He worked in a few positions, but not at all in relation to the two victims”adds the founder. He obtained his professional card, before resigning on his own after four months.
“Character erased”
“There are no memories, except for a single person who knew him, who said that he was a faded character”adds Patrick Guerbette. According to him, it was a coincidence that the suspect crossed paths with the two agents. “We really think now that it was two security agents, two walkers, or two ordinary individuals, the risk was high that there would be this same type of tragedy. This is what happened to the migrants who were there,” he said.
The two agents were patrolling as part of a contract with the State in an area where there are departures of small boats. Their car bearing the company's name was parked when they crossed paths with the killer. One of the officers was killed in his vehicle, the other outside.
A white march should be organized in the coming days, probably Wednesday, with colleagues of the two killed agents.
