After more than a year on the run, the man suspected of the murder of Denis Le Dref, on September 3, 2023, was indicted for assassination (premeditated murder), this Monday, December 16, 2024, by the investigating judge of the Lorient court. A minor at the time of the events, the suspect will be incarcerated in Rennes after an appearance before the judge of freedoms and detention who ordered his placement in pre-trial detention.
Extradited to France after his arrest
Arrested in Spain on November 8, 2024, the suspect, of Algerian origin and subject to a European arrest warrant, was immediately extradited to France. When contacted, his lawyer did not wish to comment.
Friday, Denis Le Dref's brother shared his relief after the arrest. “All I want is for him to go to prison,” responded Ludovic Le Dref.
The victim, aged 35, was shot in the chest in the apartment where he lived with his mother, in the Kervénanec district. For the acts with which he is accused, the main suspect risks life imprisonment.
