The Winner of the Jeunes Pousses Prize, Géo : Innovation in the service of wooden construction in Ariège

Ariège SEPTUORS EVENING 2024 on Wednesday December 11. A trophy presentation which took place at the heart of a show by illusionist Rémi Larrousse.

Created in 2022 in Labastide-de-Bousignac, Géo Bois focuses on innovation and sustainability to revolutionize wooden construction in Ariège. 3D prefabrication, renewable materials and ambitious projects: the company headed by Philippe Mauroux combines artisanal know-how and cutting-edge technologies to meet environmental challenges.

Founded in 2022 in Labastide-de-Bousignac, a few kilometers from Mirepoix, the Géo Bois company embodies the future of wooden construction in Ariège. Philippe Mauroux, its president, also founder of the Mouroux group specializing in traditional residences, made the bold bet of turning his expertise towards wooden frame houses (MOB). “I wanted to participate in the energy transition of the building and move from the traditional house to the MOB,” he confides. With a team of 18 employees and cutting-edge machines such as a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) dedicated to prefabrication, Géo Bois combines artisanal know-how and modern technologies. The company specializes in frame manufacturing, 3D modular prefabrication and timber frame walls, offering sustainable and energy efficient solutions.

Local and responsible production

At the heart of its activity, Géo Bois promotes wood, a renewable material which stores carbon and is fully part of an environmental approach. “We mainly use softwood species such as pine, Douglas and spruce,” explains Philippe Mauroux. The company, which is constantly improving, aims to increase the production capacity of its factory to meet growing demand.

The opportunities are varied: modular prefabrication allows an increased production rate and innovative solutions adapted to the specific needs of each customer. Among the current projects, Géo Bois is carrying out a complex framework on Rue du Rival in Foix, combining accessibility constraints and respect for the existing structure, as well as twelve wooden frame houses in Cadirac, a district of the same city.

A growing alternative

The strength of Géo Bois lies in its team and its tools. Mastery of design, digital cutting and assembly in-house guarantees optimal quality and flawless customization. The company is actively looking for new talents to support its growth and consolidate its leading position in wooden construction in Ariège. For Philippe Mauroux, the wooden house is more than an alternative: “Wooden houses are the future of construction. We are passionate about creating functional, aesthetic and environmentally friendly buildings. »
