On Sunday morning, an RTL journalist was violently attacked live in Wormhout, in the North. It was in the nine o’clock news that the journalist spoke in front of the house of one of the victims of the attack which left five people dead during gunfire on Saturday. As she spoke about the shooting and the latest progress in the investigation, she was questioned by several male voices.

An hour later, during the ten o’clock edition of the RTL news, the latter gave more information on what had happened: “ Our journalist was attacked live while talking about this tragedy. I assure you, she is fine. The entire RTL editorial team joins me in condemning these actions ».

In the wake of this attack, the management of the private station wanted to provide support to its journalist. “ The management and editorial staff of RTL provide their full support to the attacked journalist, as well as to all journalists who faced hostility while covering this event, and strongly denounce the threats or violence directed against journalists », We can read in a press release.
