We think, of course, of the famous Handcuffs clasp, which the house offers in multiple ways for lovers of symbolic links. The year 2024 nevertheless highlighted another strong identity element: the link. In 1968, Jean Dinh Van sculpted this assembly piece to give it a rectangular shape softened at the corners, never seen before. He added perfect proportions and a seemingly simple attachment system: a pair of beveled notches allowing the sliding and interlocking of two central links. Nearly sixty years later, this device remains inviolable! A graphic continuation of existing creations from the Maillon collection (notably rings and earrings), new necklaces and bracelets in yellow gold and white gold play with several sizes and feature the iconic motif – paved with diamonds, all gold or in XL format – to offer a modern reading of this other very endearing theme of Dinh Van design.
A piece of jewelry also equipped with an ingenious attachment system has just been reinvented: the Serrure bracelet. Already available in a mirror polished finish in three gold colors, this wrist ribbon is now available in brushed yellow gold. The matte appearance of the precious metal and the clasp without the usual signature diamond reinforce the unisex character of the “flat” version of the minimalist bangle designed by Jean Dinh Van in 1976.
Ciccio and Matto, the two new Italian addresses that make Brussels vibrate
His genius as a goldsmith-sculptor had resulted in the perfect equation of a gold wire flexible enough to open and rigid enough not to deform. As obvious as the stroke of a pencil, stripped of all mechanisms and ornaments (apart from a new paving of diamonds), the Serrure bangle lends itself to the contemporary game of accumulation. It completes with finesse the wardrobe of everyday jewelry, those that we never take off, which define us and are part of us.
