The Edmonton Oilers beat the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday and there was some animosity between the two teams.

Largely due to the double failure of Jack Eichel at the expense of Matthias Ekholm. It was a dangerous play, but no penalty was called on Eichel. Fortunately, Ekholm was able to escape without injury.

The Oilers got revenge on Eichel and the Golden Knights by winning a four-point Pacific Division clash, but there was still frustration in the Edmonton room after the game due to the lack of a call on this sequence.
Ekholm said after the game that he was told there was no penalty on the play because the referee didn’t think the cross-check was strong enough to warrant one.

Looking at the recovery, we can understand his judgment. It is true that the contact seemed light.

That said, several experts and supporters demanded a review and a consequence from the disciplinary committee, but the time has passed and the committee decided not to review the sequence or at least not to punish Eichel for his actions.
