At the head of the race, Dalin and Richomme are progressing in a west-northwest wind of around twenty knots in the wake of a depression in the south seas. A cold front will catch up with them in the afternoon of this Saturday with a shift in the wind to the southwest. This change in wind direction will allow them to gybe and put their course back south. Bestaven, 8th in the ranking, is slowed down by the passage of a ridge but the wind conditions will quickly improve with the arrival of a depression from the west. The northwest wind will strengthen ahead of the low pressure system, which will allow it to accelerate on the port tack, on a trajectory close to the direct course.

For Jean Le Cam, at the head of the group of drifters, having chosen a very northern trajectory to avoid being too close to the stormy depression, the southwest wind is losing a little of its power but is still blowing at 25 knots. He has started to put a little southerly on his route but still has to navigate in rough seas with 5 to 6 meters of waves.

This Sunday, Dalin and Richomme will sail in a southwest wind of 20 to 25 knots behind a cold front. The goal will be to go as far south as possible to maintain wind and take a shorter route to reach the Pacific. Bestaven will accelerate under the effect of a very dynamic northerly flow of around thirty knots. He should maintain good sea conditions allowing him to sail comfortably and gain ground on the race leaders.

Jean Le Cam will finally benefit from more moderate wind and sea conditions this Sunday, since the stormy depression will evacuate towards the east. The respite will be short-lived since another depression is already in sight for the start of the week. He will have to take advantage of this day of respite to rest and check his equipment after several days of bad weather.

This Monday, Dalin and Richomme will continue their course towards the south-east in a south-west wind of around twenty knots. It is a real speed race that will be engaged for the two leaders who will have to refine their trajectory for entry into the Pacific, towards Cape Horn. Bestaven will continue to progress at high speed in a north-northeast flow. which will allow him to take more and more south on his route.

Jean Le Cam will have gybed and turned east on his route, under the effect of an increasingly strong northwest wind, ahead of a new depression in the southern seas.
