Restonica: what is the assessment a little over a year after the devastation caused by storms Ciaran and Domingos?

In our Grand Angle column, return this morning to the Operational Committee (COPIL) relating to Restonica which met yesterday afternoon in Corte.

It was a matter of taking stock of the 2024 summer season and considering the next steps for the renewal of the valley, a little over a year after the devastation caused by the storms Ciaran and Domingos, namely the destruction of three bridges, the landslides and major landslides which cut off, as we recall, access to the Grotelle sheepfolds and the Melu and Capitellu lakes.

For Xavier Poli, the mayor of Corte, the results are positive and the collective efforts deployed by the State, the Collectivity of Corsica, the Regional Natural Park and the municipality have made it possible to cope and save the tourist season by limiting, says -he, the economic damage. However, we note on the section of access to the lakes, an emblematic site generally welcoming 100,000 visitors each year, an 85% drop in attendance, due to the impossibility of accessing it by car. If tourism professionals recognize the work accomplished by the authorities, some of them nevertheless express nuanced impressions, like Loïc Colonna, hotelier in the town center of Corte.

A subject developed this Wednesday, December 11 in our Grand Angle column.
