Following the fire which ravaged the Petites Familles home in Grandval on Wednesday, an appeal was launched by the authorities to find clothes and shoes for people who lost their personal belongings in the flames. As a reminder, before the tragedy, the association welcomed nine children in difficulty in the Grandval building.
Support appreciated
“In the space of two hours, we received more than we would have needed,” says Audrey Ganguin, municipal secretary, who salutes the “incredible solidarity” and the humanity shown by the population, this much beyond the borders of the municipality.
“A few minutes after the appeal was broadcast on social networks, I was already receiving offers of material donations from Tramelan. This support touched us a lot, just like that expressed by the authorities, the firefighters and the cantonal Care Team of Berne for the psychological aspect”, testifies Gérard Gagnebin, tramelot president of the committee of the Small Families association.
Requests for possible donations have also been pouring in since Wednesday. In this regard, the president prefers to procrastinate. “Ethically, we prefer to wait until we have been able to analyze all the needs before making any call for donations. We had a project to renovate the building. We therefore also need to take the time to think about what comes next,” adds- he.
People who would still like to support Petites Familles through a donation will find the necessary information on the website www.petitesfamilles.org.
