“Given the nature of the facts, this falls under organized crime,” explains the public prosecutor of Saint-Nazaire, Florence Sroda-Bru. The Saint-Nazaire public prosecutor's office therefore relinquished the case of the assassination of a 19-year-old boy, on the night of December 8 to 9, in Saint-Nazaire, in favor of the Interregional Jurisdiction specializing in the fight against organized crime and delinquency in Rennes. This prosecution, experienced in big cases, therefore takes control of the investigation opened for “organized gang murder”. A qualification which includes the notion of premeditation.
The killers fled
Around 4 a.m., at 38, rue des Frênes, in the Bouletterie district, two armed men, their faces masked, entered the building then into an apartment at 3e floor to execute their target in cold blood. A 19-year-old boy, Abdelkarim Beniaich, was sleeping in the bedroom at the end of the hallway at his father's house. He was hit by several bullets. He died on the spot. The killers fled in a vehicle in which an accomplice was waiting for them.
