The young Tricolores opened the scoring shortly before the quarter-hour mark through Nathan Riu, just after resisting a Hungarian powerplay. Present on the rebound of a shot from Mattis Chapuis, Robinson Djian doubled the lead five minutes later. In the process, captain Teo Toubhans-Besnier worsens the score with a long shot, allowing the French to have a three-goal lead after a third. The Bleuets are clearly dominated in T2 (18 shots to 11), but it is they who score first by Noa Nsonsa Kitala, effective on the rebound. The Hungarians managed to deceive Martin Neckar for the first time 30 seconds later. The French goalkeeper, author of 27 saves and elected man of the match, will bow a second time to Marton Nemes at the end of the match (4-2), but Mattis Chapuis will score behind, in an empty cage, a fifth liberating goal. The French U20 team wins its first match of the World D1A (5-2)!
After a deserved day of rest, the Bleuets will play Thursday against the Danish team. The meeting will be broadcast on www.hockeyfrance.tv.
