Photo: Chrysler Launched in April 2000, the PT Cruiser will soon celebrate its 25th anniversary on the market (after a press presentation in January 1999). At first, people couldn't get one and it became a real cultural phenomenon: there were magazines, conventions, companies dedicated to customizing it. There will be convertible, turbo versions and a plethora of special series. And then, perhaps because retro went out of fashion, perhaps because it remained on the market for too long, sales plummeted from 2007 and, gradually, the PT Cruiser became… old-fashioned. Its marketing stopped in 2010 after 1.35 million copies produced. But with time and nostalgia taking their toll, it wouldn't be surprising if it began to be appreciated again. To be continued…
