On this Friday, December 13, a lucky day for some, a bad day for others, we're talking literature, comics, more precisely. And not just any comic book: a comic book by an author from Rouen.
The secrets of the most famous cemetery in France
Go behind the scenes of the famous and mysterious Parisian cemetery of Père-Lachaise with the comic strip by Sébastien Floc'h: 136 pages and 16 stories about 16 characters. From the vampiric Countess Stroganoff to the singer Jim Morrison, via Chopin, the writer dissects several secrets that amaze.
This book is not likely to bore you, both in terms of content and visually. To illustrate his words, the Rouennais called on 16 designersa different one per story.
A nod to Rouen
In his comic strip, Sébastien does not forget his favorite town: Rouen. In fact, we can even read a secret about Théodore Géricaultborn in the city of a hundred steeples.
To disentangle the true from the false, Sébastien multiplied the sources: archives, guides, media… He even spoke with Benoît Gallot, the curator living in the very heart of the cemetery.
The comic strip Le Père-Lachaise Legends, celebrities and unusual burials can be found in all bookstores at 21.50 euros. Excerpt from the book right here!
