“Too many lives lost in vain, too many families destroyed”: Trump calls for an “immediate ceasefire” in Ukraine

US President-elect Donald Trump called this Sunday, December 8, 2024, for an “immediate ceasefire” and negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.

“There should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin. Too many lives have been lost in vain, too many families have been destroyed, and if this continues it could turn into something bigger, and much worse”wrote American President-elect Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform this Sunday, December 8, 2024. He also said that Ukraine lost “ridiculously” 400,000 soldiers and “many more civilians.”

“End the madness”

Donald Trump assured at the same time that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “would like to make a deal” to end the war.

“Zelensky and Ukraine would like to make a deal and end the madness. They have ridiculously lost 400,000 troops and many more civilians. There should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin”he wrote, after his meeting in this Saturday, December 7, 2024 with Volodymyr Zelensky.
