He is an actor who left his mark on an entire generation. On October 3, Michel Blanc is dead at the age of 72. He suffered angioedema while undergoing a medical examination. Terrible news for the Splendid troupeformed 50 years earlier.
Indeed, at the beginning of the 1970s, Michel Blanc, Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, Gérard Jugnot, Marie-Anne Chazel, Bruno Moynot and Josiane Balasko distinguished themselves on theater boards. In 1978, their piece Loves, shellfish and crustaceans was adapted for the screen in
The Bronzed. A film which would later become a classic of popular French cinema
Christian Clavier recalls a memorable memory with Michel Blanc
On Thursday, December 5, Christian Clavier was invited to C à vous on France 5. During the show, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine wanted to talk about the play Loves, shellfish and crustaceans.
“You spilled a bowl of fromage blanc on Michel Blanc’s head. It dripped all over his body, even into his swimsuit, which he never washed. Is it true ?” she asked her guest.
Faced with this original question, Christian Clavier responded in the affirmative. Over time, Michel Blanc’s swimsuit even ended up reeking of dried cottage cheese. “It’s true. We had backstage which was relatively small, so it was quite odious” he remembered with humor.
Josiane Balasko tried to resolve the problem
While Michel Blanc wanted to keep his swimsuit soaked in fromage blanc, the other actors had
decided to act. In the book The Splendid on the Splendid,
Josiane Balasko indicates in particular that she had “sprayed the swimsuit with cologne”.
Despite this intervention, Michel Blanc’s swimsuit would not have not really changed smell. Christian Clavier said on this subject: “You had to put the whole bottle in. It was quite expensive at the time, so we didn’t want to replace it.”. A memorable anecdote that sums up the good-natured atmosphere between the members of the troupe.
