VIDEO – The actor reconnects with his first loves. He returns to the stage with his play One more day divine. The opportunity to look back on some memories.
François Cluzet reconnects with his first loves and returns to the stage with his play One more day divine from January 25 at the “Les Bouffes Parisiens” theater. He was the guest of Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on the set of “C à vous” this Thursday, December 12.
For the occasion, Patrick Cohen brought out the actor's first on-set television from the archives. It was an interview, carried out on February 17, 1980 by Michel Drucker for the release of his first film, Cocktail Molotov. “You'll see, it's quite funny because you're apologizing for what you just performed in the theater. It was a piece by Bouvard.underlined the political columnist. And if the latter found this sequence amusing, François Cluzet does not share this feeling.

The presenter at the time then asked him about his early career in the theater. And it was full of confidence that the interviewee responded by justifying having played a play by Philippe Bouvard. “I think you have to show yourself, it’s difficult. So we do things that we don't want to claim afterwards, but too bad. You have to do them. An actor is above all someone who carries a text, and if the one we give him is not fantastic then he carries that one and he does his best”explained the young 25-year-old actor.
At the same time, on the set of “C à vous”, François Cluzet seemed devastated by such comments, sometimes shaking his head “no”, sometimes burying his face in his hands. “You are a little in the justification”raised Patrick Cohen in a humorous tone. “But that’s nonsense.”he retorted while straightening his face. “What hurts my heart the most is this pretension. First that ridiculous mustache. And then the guy seems very sure of himself whereas, to tell the truth, I was very shy, completely lost. […] The less we have self-confidence, the more we lower it. It’s completely stupid to have said that”he admitted with several decades of hindsight.
“But what's funny is that at that time I belonged to a company where we played hyper-serious things. And when I told them that I was going to perform Philippe Bouvard's play, their arms dropped. I was fired from the company”remembered the actor Small handkerchiefs. An anecdote which particularly annoyed Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine who did not hesitate to call these people “idiots”.
