When Black Friday promotions take hold, the Internet budget becomes lighter
If you missed the boat last Friday, here's a chance to catch up: in addition to low price for its Fiber Box, RED by SFR maintains his gift from last week and continues tooffer the commissioning costs. These are always 39€ saved, that we will happily invest to stream on our favorite SVoD platform for example.
The discount operator made the strategic choice toa fixed price for its subscription without commitment: the RED Box costs €23.99/month, without the risk of seeing the price double after a few months. The proof that prices have fallen significantly since last year: almost 13% according to our barometer for the month of November. However, it is the lowest on the market, without a shadow of a doubt, including in the face of promotions from certain ISPs when we think over two years. We are even 5€ cheaper than average!
However, the RED Box offers the best speeds in the entry-level segment…
A very high-speed connection at a low price
Obviously, when price is the first criterion of choice, you have to be prepared for some concessions. Typically, we limit the speed: the Bbox Fit offers 600 Mb/s, while “La Boîte” from Sosh is satisfied with 400 Mb/s, just like the special dual-play series “Just Livebox” from Orange.
Or, the RED Box proudly displays 1 Gb/s of download and upload speed: it's as good as entry-level subscriptions from historic ISPs like Orange (the Livebox) or Free (the Freebox Revolution Light), and even better for transfer speed! As for Wi-Fi, we remain classic: it is du Wi-Fi 5 (ac) at RED by SFR as with competitors, intelligent Wi-Fi with two frequency bands, stable and efficient provided that the accommodation is not too large.
Unlimited telephony but no TV. Unless?
With the RED Box, unlimited telephony does not only concern landlines in France and around a hundred international countries, as often. For once, calls to mobile numbers are included as long as you call mainland France.
More surprising is the television aspect. As a dual-play offer, the RED Box does not provide any decoder in its formula, and yet: via the RED TV application from a smartphone or tablet, you have free access to the 35 TNT channels. To cast why not on the big screen if you have a compatible smart TV.
Otherwise, we can always ask for a decoder as an extra: it is optional for rental for barely €3/month. And if you want a larger TV package of 100 channels, it will cost €2 more.
For completeness, let us specify thata second option exists to spruce up your RED box and boost its throughput: it is billed at €7/month, and allows you to both double the speed and switch to Wi-Fi 6 (ax): it's more comfortable when there are several of you sharing the connection.
