A Morocco-Italy friendly match soon on the program? According to several rumors, the Italian Federation contacted the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) to set up this meeting.
First African team in the FIFA rankings, 14th in the world and semi-finalist of the 2022 World Cup, the Moroccan selection attracts certain major nations including that of Italy.
The FRMF is also reportedly studying this possibility, in the same way as that of Senegal which also wants to schedule a match with the Atlas Lions.
If this proposal is validated, the date and place of the meeting would still have to be set. As a reminder, the next international break will take place in March 2025, for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
During the last international break for the CAN 2025 qualifiers, the national team ended its campaign in style with a resounding victory (7-0) against Lesotho, taking the lead in its group with 18 points thanks to six wins in six games.
Morocco is the only team to have finished qualifying flawlessly, also having the best attack with 26 goals scored and only 2 goals conceded.
