“Two Naked Girls” by Luz, ACBD Critics’ Grand Prize (…)

ActuaBD obviously did not miss this original work, which tells a little-known aspect of the Shoah from the point of view of a painting ofOtto Muellertoday in the collection of the Ludwig Museum in Cologne.

« It is a touching testimony that gives us Luz in this albumwe wrote in this article which put the album in the favorites of the ActuaBD editorial staff. It recounts in an original way the systematic spoliation of Jewish property by the Nazi regime, the odious behavior of certain factotums opportunistically adhering to the ideology of the new regime, the discreet resistance of a few others. This intelligent story is neither pathetic nor accusatory. – this essentially disinterested act of love – remains above the vulgar. »

With her quick and lively style, Luz links art to politics and continues to denounce the filthy beast lurking in our daily lives and ready to resurface at the first opportunity, whether in the USA or in Europe.

It also seems that this prize benefits from a terrible anniversary: that of ten years of the massacre of the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo in 2015 which unfortunately did not completely raise awareness that freedom of expression and militant atheism is an everyday fight.

For ten years, Luz has lived in hiding and has bodyguards who accompany her wherever she goes. Will he be able to come and collect his prize in Angoulême? It’s really not certain.
