Although there is interesting aid in France, some of it does not last forever. The disappearance of devices is, in itself, not surprising. After all, Michel Barnier said when he arrived at Matignon that he wanted to pursue an austerity policy. However, motorists should know this.
Indeed, by ignoring the upcoming disappearance of certain interesting financial levers, they risk having an unpleasant surprise. This is why, today, we would like to highlight two major developments. Two emblematic devices are on the verge of disappearing or changing drastically. These changes will mark a turning point in the vehicle renewal assistance policy in France.
Bad news for motorists
Since January 1, 2020, the conversion bonus allows thousands of French people to replace their polluting vehicles with more recent models and more respectful of the environment. It's an interesting device, both for our planet and for motorists' bank accounts.
But, unfortunately, this bonus will end on January 1, 2025, five after its creation. It is a disappearance which, obviously, does not please motorists. It must be said that this bonus has many advantages.

Motorists: this offense is the new target of the police and is worth a heavy fine
In fact, it offers up to 5,000 euros for the acquisition of electric vehicles or hydrogen (new or used), subject to income conditions. For used thermal vehicles classified Crit'Air 1, aid can reach 3,000 euros.
Low-income households and residents of low-emission zones (ZFE) also benefit from even more attractive amounts, with an additional bonus of 1,000 euros, cumulative with local aid. Thanks to this system, we are counting the disappearance of more than a million vehicles from circulation. In other words, motorists favor this bonus.
A major change for the ecological bonus
Unfortunately, this is not the only bad news for motorists. At the same time, the ecological bonus, which supports the purchase of electric vehicles, will undergo a notable reduction. The latter, at present, has a ceiling of 7,000 euros. However, this ceiling will increase to 4,000 euros for low-income households. Finally, it will be 2,000 euros for others.
These two developments will obviously have significant consequences for motorists. As the Journal du Net points out, a modest household can, today, hope for up to 12,000 euros in aid (conversion bonus + ecological bonus). But, in 2025, he will have to make do with 4,000 euros maximum. This represents a loss of 8,000 euros for some motorists. However, there are thousands of people who rely on these devices to change cars.
You have to act quickly to benefit from it
With the imminent disappearance of these devices, motorists who wish to benefit from them have little time to act. Those considering purchasing or replacing their vehicle must finalize their plans before the end of 2024, under penalty of losing crucial financial benefits.

Motorists: wearing a down jacket while driving can be fatal and cost you your life, the reasons
We may be surprised by such changes. Certainly, they are logical, since the State seeks to save money. On the other hand, they oppose France's ecological ambitions. To protect our environment, it is essential to help motorists make the right choices.
Without these devices, or with lower amounts, they will not be able to afford to change cars. After all, it is in no way a priority for them, at a time when purchasing power is falling.
