The “Guido D’Ippolito” ground does not rest even during Christmas, which this Sunday will host the regional final of the Italian Amateur Cup between Digiesse Praia Tortora and San Luca (curiously the Reggio Calabria team will return to Via Marconi for the next official match, the last first round match away to Vigor Lamezia on 5 January).
After Vibo Valentia and Locri in the last two editions, the final will be held again at the “Guido D’Ippolito” stadium in Lamezia Terme, with kick-off scheduled for 2.30pm on 22 December.
In the direct elimination matches, the Tyrrhenians beat Paolana in the round of 16, Trebisacce in the quarter-finals and Soriano in the semi-finals, while the Ionians got the better of Stilomonasterace, Gioiese and Melito.
The first title of the season is up for grabs, the winning team will succeed Bocale in the roll of honor, who in the last edition managed to beat the highly favored Sambiase after penalties, but will have the burden and honor of representing Calabria in the national phase of the competition.
The referee of the match was Mr. Condito Giovanni Graziano of the Catanzaro section, assisted by the assistants Mr. Salituro Raffaele of the Cosenza section and Mr. Renda Gianluca of the Lamezia Terme section. Fourth man is Mr. Vita Carino Luca from the Paola section.
At the end of the usual meeting held at the headquarters of CR Calabria, in the presence of representatives of both clubs, all the modalities were defined and the sectors intended for the two groups of fans were drawn: the grandstand will be allocated to the blue and white supporters, while the the steps were designated yellow-red.
The presale was assigned to the two companies each for their own sector of expertise. The remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the stadium box office before the match. Entrance is free for children under 14 years of age, with the entry ticket collected at the stadium ticket office upon presentation of an identity document.
