A milk price of €489/1,000 liters on average from June to December
In addition to the revaluation of the remuneration of the workforce and an increase in volume overall of the OP, the two actors presented at a press conference a new system of primes “sustainable” which is added to the premiums for pasture and food non-GMO cows.
In detail, “from January to May, the system does not change, with a milk price basic conventional at €460/1000 l (+ €25/2024) and grazing and non-GMO premiums which remain at €21/1000 l. These concern 100% of breeders. Then, from June 1 to December 31, grazing and non-GMO premiums increase to €17 and new “sustainable” premiums are put in place, which will reach on average €12/1000 l. That is, in total, a milk price of €489/1,000 liters on average over this period. » On average for the year 2025, the two partners are counting on a milk price of €485.
8 varied levers and associated “sustainable” bonuses
This new “sustainable” program is based on an evolution of specifications My BBLait, which is enriched to become My sustainable BBLait, with eight optional levers to reducecarbon footprint in dairy farming. Breeders will be able to choose up to 8 levers to operate:
• Ground cover
• Food without imported soy or palm oil
• Maintaining and planting hedges
• Protein autonomy via forages (multi-species grasslands, alfalfa, meslin)
• Protein autonomy via farm concentrates (fava bean, lupine, soya)
• Methane reducing food like flax
• Methane reducing food supplement: Bovaer
• Measurement of enteric methane emissions via milk analyses, to encourage the implementation of reduction practices.
Compliance with the specifications is audited by an external organization. The premium, paid each month, will vary between 0 and 25 euros per 1,000 liters, depending on the number of levers chosen, the level of commitment and depending on the result of measuring the broadcasts of enteric methane when this lever is chosen.
On average, the average premium is estimated at €12/1000 l. “It will promote the practices already implemented by breeders and support the development of new practices”adds Yoann Lézé, vice-president of APBO.
+ 16 million liters in two years
The volume global you CONTRACT between APBO and Bel increases by 10 million liters of milk, to reach 431 million liters, after an increase of 6 million liters in 2024 compared to 2023. “This development is linked to the good dynamics of our sales, mainly driven by our marques Laughing Cow, Kiri and Mini Babybel »underlines Anne-Sophie Carrier.
She adds that Bel’s challenge will be “during the commercial negotiations with the grande distribution who are starting, to defend the value of our commitments in favor of reducing the carbon footprint and environmental impact in the broad sense. Our customers are starting to be sensitive to this, given that they themselves have commitments to fulfill and that their suppliers represent around two-thirds of their emissions. To support sharing of the effort for the agricultural transition, we will communicate with the consumers on our programs. »
550 €/1000 l price of organic milk for Bel
Bel and APBO renew their support for breeders in biowith a milk price organic in 38/32 which increases by €25/1,000 liters to reach €550/1,000 l on average over 2,025. Despite good sales dynamics, particularly of marque Kiri, conversions are still suspended. 16 farms are organic today, a stable number.
