In the event that Hezbollah decides to continue its rocket attacks on northern Israel, the IDF will extend its strikes beyond areas where the terrorist group is concentrated and target the Lebanese state itself.
Israel Katz spoke out a day after a wave of Israeli airstrikes killed nearly a dozen people in Lebanon. The strikes came after Hezbollah fired a volley of projectiles as a warning for what it said were previous Israeli ceasefire violations.
“Our policy and that of the Israeli Defense Forces are clear and unequivocal: we will work with all our might to enforce all ceasefire agreements, and we will respond with maximum response and zero tolerance.” said Israel Katz.
« There will no longer be an exemption for the State of Lebanon.” he added.
Israel has largely refrained from striking critical infrastructure of the Lebanese armed forces during the 14-month conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
The war seemed to have ended last week after a ceasefire negotiated by the United States and France, but it has been threatened for two days by continued sporadic attacks and responses from both sides.
