A fire in a squat which left two victims seriously injured on the night of Monday December 2 to Tuesday December 3, quickly rebounded into the area of ​​controversy, the building concerned belonging to the City of .

Very violent, the disaster which led to the intervention of more than a hundred firefighters broke out in a building in Caluire-et-Cuire, on the edge of Lyon, leading in particular to the installation of a large scale.

Firefighters discovered two seriously injured people who were immediately transported to hospital.

But quickly the controversy grew, Pierre Oliver, president of the opposition group to the environmental executive of the City of Lyon, (right and center) reacted strongly.

“Last night a fire broke out in a building owned by the City of Lyon and located in Caluire-et-Cuire. This was unfortunately predictable given the state of the building. Our thoughts go first and foremost to the victims of this fire,” he explained in a press release.

And to assure that, “a little over a year ago when the occupants took possession of this building, the Mayor of Caluire, knowing the state of disrepair of this building, issued an order prohibiting them from living in and had asked the Metropolis of Lyon, competent in the matter, to issue a danger order. »

He adds: “the Mayor of Lyon then chose not to request the evacuation of this squat and no danger order was issued. »
