New Jersey dominated the New York Rangers on Monday in Manhattan (5-1) in the NHL. And this without accounting contribution from its three Swiss players: Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler.
Two men, however, particularly shone: Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. The Devils’ two best scorers scored 3 and 4 points respectively. The American scored twice (4-0 and 5-1), while the Swede opened the scoring and subsequently delivered three assists.
The Big Apple players never really worried their New Jersey neighbors, scoring only one goal in the second period (4-1). The latter are now at the top of the Atlantic division with one point ahead of Washington, but four more matches on their clock.
Chicago hat
Nothing is going well for Chicago, where Philipp Kurashev is definitely having a very complicated season. The Blackhawks conceded a third loss in a row on Toronto ice (4-1) and remain last in the Central division.
The Ontario franchise was able to count on the return of its star Auston Matthews. The Mexican-American, who had missed the last 9 matches, opened the scoring in the first third. Chicago reduced the score to 2-1 at the start of the third period but Toronto regained its distance 21 seconds later, before ending the suspense in the empty cage.
