« There is probably no more important date in your life than the day you are going to die “, says Brent Franson. It was the latter who created Death Clock, une AI application that can tell you the date of your death. And this, for 40€. But is this prediction really worth its price?

AI has not finished shaking up our daily lives, and this time, it is tackling one of the great unknowns of life, notably death. An application called Death Clock therefore claims to be able to predict your final day using algorithms. For the sum of €40, it promises to transform data on your lifestyle into a personalized countdown.

Death just a click away with an AI application

When I heard about Death ClockI immediately thought of the film Countdown (2019). You know that fictional app that predicted the day you would die and started a countdown? Except this time, we're in real life. And as revealed Bloomberg on November 30ththis AI application does exist.

Launched last July, Death Clock can therefore predict the date of your death using AI. And imagine that it has already been downloaded more than 125,000 times despite its price of 40€.

So, to get your expiration date, you just need to fill out a questionnaire. You must enter your date of birth, your diet, your physical activity, your stress level or even your quality of sleep…

The AI then uses a huge volume of data to make its calculations. These are based on 1,200 studies involving more than 53 million participants. Then, once the information is entered, Death Clock provides you with a countdown to your day of death.

Is this gadget really useful?

Furthermore, data on life expectancy are also of interest governments, insurers or even businesses. Thus, they are crucial for pension calculations orlife insurance. And frankly, the current averages are “ quite far from reality » according to Franson.

However, let's not get carried away. Since Death Clock cannot predict accidents, pandemics, or measure more subtle variables like loneliness or gratitude. This AI application does not yet give the prediction of infallible death that we could imagine.

On the other hand, Death Clock offers you recommendations for improve your lifestyle. So, theoretically, this pushes back this famous date.
