It was almost two in the morning, in the night from 1is as of December 2, 2024when the firefighters were called for a fire within the commune of Saint-Denis-le-Vêtu (Manche), in the village of Au Comte.
The feu was in fact declared in a agricultural building of 1,500 m2 containing around a hundred cattle, but also 60 tonnes of straw and agricultural machinery.
When help arrived, 500 m2are already a flame. More than 23 firefighters intervened from the emergency centers of Coutances, Granville, Lessay, Quettreville and Saint-Lô. The hundred cattle were evacuated, but three calves perish in the fire.
The preserved milking parlor
It is necessary to prevent the fire from spreading further, the emergency services then fight against the flames by means of three water lances. They will manage to win the battle, and will save the milking parlor, thus preserving the farm's activities.
