How can we summarize this desire to promote year-round island housing?

The “Objectif Habitat” operation, launched in the first half of the mandate, is based on several axes: the development of social housing, the regulation of furnished tourist accommodation, the OPAH (Programmed housing improvement operation) in the city center and large subdivision operations intended for islanders. After Borpaloë, Roserières, Les Courreaux in Haute-Boulogne, the Bordilla plateau in land reserve

the municipality acquired land in Borthélo for the installation of fourteen homes. The acquisition of this plot by way of pre-emption was attacked by a private developer before the administrative court. The court has just rejected this appeal by judgment rendered on November 22.

It's a great victory, it's not just the municipality that wins but the island habitat! We all have in mind the pre-emption lost a few years ago for Pénécam. Today, with the help of Gwendoline Paul, our lawyer, our argument has been heard by the courts and I am delighted. This will allow us to develop our projects so that local residents can find housing. The court considered that the decision to exercise the urban right of pre-emption was sufficiently motivated by the municipality which argued that the commune of Le Palais is experiencing real estate inflation due to the increase in the share of second homes. It specifies that the right of pre-emption is exercised in order to allow the creation of housing at an affordable price for Palantins.

What other actions are you taking to promote island housing?

We are continuing our adaptations to local regulations by imposing on private developers tomorrow, no longer 20% but 50% of social housing for each new construction project.

* The subdivisions reserved for islanders in Palais are Borpaloë (eleven families), Roserières (two families), during 2025 the Courreaux subdivision will be delivered to Haute-Boulogne (twelve families), the Bordilla plateau in land reserve (2 ha) and Borthélo (fourteen families).
