“Racism from yesterday to today: science and prejudices”, with Bernard Binetruy, biologist at Inserm, Mustapha El Miri, sociologist at LEST-CNRS and Aix-Marseille University, Silvana Condemi, paleoanthropologist at AMU, Delphine Peiretti, historian at AMU.
The debate will be led by the scientists who created the exhibition “Racism from yesterday to today: science and prejudices” sponsored by Inserm.
Fruit of the meeting between the human sciences and modern genetics, this exhibition deconstructs the notion of race in the human species in light of historical, sociological data and recent advances obtained by the complete sequencing of human genomes. Intended for all audiences aged 12 and over, it offers essential educational work at a time when the resurgence of openly racist ideologies on the media scene has revived a very old debate.
The exhibition will be at the HYPERION from the end of November and can travel to the university and to high schools or social centers. Elbow to elbow can organize debates! This has just been done at Saint Charles high school in November with a debate on Monday 18/11.
