Two people died this Sunday, December 1, in the Pyrenees. The events took place in two different locations: one in Ourde in the Hautes-Pyrénées and the other at Lake Oô in Haute-Garonne.

Two people lost their lives in the Pyrenees this Sunday. Two deaths in different departments. A man in Ourde in the Hautes-Pyrénées and a woman at Lake Oô in Haute-Garonne.

In Haute-Garonne, the high mountain gendarmerie platoons (PGHM) from Pierrefitte-Nestalas and Bagnères-de-Luchon intervened at the end of the morning at Lake Oô. They discovered the body of a 62-year-old woman at an altitude of 1,500 meters, on the edge of the lake. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of his death.

Around 3:30 p.m., an accident took place in Ourde, in Barousse, in the south-east of the Hautes-Pyrénées department. A 71-year-old man, living in Haute-Garonne, was the victim of a rock fall while hiking with four other people.

The septuagenarian did not survive his injuries. He died when gendarmes from the Pierrefitte-Nestalas high mountain gendarmerie platoon intervened. His body was evacuated by the helicopter dispatched for rescue.
