Did you know that you can report to the prefecture a loved one who is no longer able to drive? Before reaching this point, you can also decide yourself to stop driving. This is the choice made by Corinne, a 72-year-old from Montpellier.
For a little over two years, Corinne has not driven. This Montpellier native, however, has no particular health problems and she has a busy social life. But at 72, she believes that she no longer drives quite like she used to and that she needed to stop before it became too dangerous.
It was her sons who first alerted her: “They told me I wasn't driving well, but I thought I was driving very well. And then when I thought about it, I said to myself that maybe they weren't wrong.” Driving at night, new signs, work in the streets of Montpellier: so many situations that make her less and less comfortable behind the wheel. So after lending her car to her son to help him out, she realizes that she doesn't need it that much and decides to part with it.
