Selena Gomez is officially an engaged woman — and her “weird uncles” are congratulating her and her new fiancé Benny Blanco.
The morning after Gomez, 32, announced Blanco, 36, had proposed to her during a picnic featuring Taco Bell, the couple’s favorite, her Only Murders in the Building costars weighed in on the happy news.
Steve Martin shared a photo of himself, Martin Short and Gomez on Instagram on Dec. 12 and wrote in the caption, “Congratulations to Benny and Selena, from her two weird uncles.”
Fans were loving the sweet gesture — and couldn’t help but point out the obvious connection to both the actors’ iconic roles in Father of the Bride.
“Uncles of the Bride,” one follower wrote, a play on words with the 1991 film’s title. Another person asked Martin, 79, to “bring back” his character from the movie “to plan the wedding.”
Gomez’s beauty brand Rare Beauty also commented on the post, “???? ???? ❤️ ,” as did the official account of the trio’s Hulu series.
Since meeting in 2021 for Only MurdersGomez has developed a special bond with Martin and Short, 74, who she called ” the most kind, gentle, warm and powerful influences in my life” in an April Instagram post.
“You have shown me a level of class, intellect and humor that doesn’t seem to be easy to find anymore,” she continued in the caption of the sweet post. “You guys are truly best friends to me forever.”

The love is mutual, too. “She is so lovely as a human, she’s so remarkable as a talent, and she just has an aura and this lovely spirit,” Short told PEOPLE of Gomez earlier this year.
“Our friendship grows and grows,” he said. “I think it just gets deeper and deeper and deeper.”
Martin echoed his longtime friend’s sentiment, as he admitted, “We didn’t really know Selena, we didn’t know what we’re getting into. I knew she has a fabulous personality, she’s very smart. But she is never late.”
“And that’s a very big deal when you’re making a movie, if people are standing around like, ‘Where is so-and-so?,’” he continued. “She is on the mark… We all march down the steps together. It’s fabulous. But it gives you an insight into her own personality and professionalism.”

Mariska Hargitay, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cardi B and Lily Collins also shared their excitement for her on the post.
Gomez’s longtime BFF Taylor Swift weighed in too as she wrote, “yes I will be the flower girl.”
