The Astana-Chelsea match resulted in four goals and a double in European competition
— Preparations for the match took place on artificial turf, but we played on natural turf. How much did this affect the game?
– Well, it was a little hard for us after all. We also had no games for two weeks, no opponents to even play a friendly match. But we trained very intensively. I think our coaching staff prepared us very well.
— If there had been game practice, would the game have been different?
“I think that perhaps we played a little wrong in the first half. I think that tactically we almost did not succeed in what the coaching staff told us. In the second half we came out and, I think, we could have scored a second – and the game would have turned out differently. We could have scored a third, I think. We looked much better in the second half.
— Was there any excitement in the team in general? Has movement and motivation been paralyzed?
– I think not. All our guys are qualified players and played at a good level. So, I think it didn’t bother us at all, and everyone gave their best one hundred percent.
