The actor seen in two of the most watched soap operas in the history of American television died at the age of 77 from Alzheimer's disease.
He had starred in two of the most watched soap operas in American television history. Comedian Wayne Northrop, star of Days of our lives and of Dynastydied this Friday, November 29, his sister announced to Deadline magazine. He was 77 years old.
“He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six years ago,” the actor's wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, said in a statement, before adding: “He took his last breath in the arms of of his family.”
“Wayne made so many people laugh with his sense of humor. He was my husband for 43 years, the best father to his sons Hank and Grady, a farmer who loved his cows and a devoted friend,” said she added.
Two roles in “Days of our Lives”
Wayne Northrop became famous for his role as Detective Roman Brady in Days of our lives between 1981 and 1984 then between 1991 and 1994. He then returned to the series, but playing another role between 2005 and 2006.
Wayne Northrop also starred in the first season of Dynasty the role of Michael Culhane. He made a notable return to the series during the seventh season.
On television, Wayne Northrop also appeared in Port Charlesa spin-off of General Hospital between 1997 and 1998. He also appeared in the police series Cold Case et Los Angeles Law.
