You have just finished the last episodes ofArcane and, yes, it really is the end…probably. If for some reason you haven’t completed Arcane yet, save this article for later and close it immediately. It’s simply jam-packed with Runeterra-sized spoilers.
The second season of Arcane gave us hours of breathtaking storytelling and unbridled chaos, with each episode escalating until the series came to a heartbreaking end. Riot Games and Fortiche have deliberately left doubt about the fate of most of the champions, but have also disseminated numerous clues to allow us to reconstruct the facts.
After digging into the history of League of LegendsArcane easter eggs and fan theories, we have the answers to all your questions, even those concerning the next series from Riot Games.
01
Did Jinx die at the end of Arcane?
This is the greatest mystery of Arcane: Jinx Did she survive the explosion? The biggest twist, but also the most controversial moment, was Jinx’s sacrifice to save Vi at the very end of the season, killing off one of the franchise’s most beloved characters.
However, a few key details suggest that Jinx miraculously survived.
First, a few eagle-eyed viewers noticed a small purple line extending a split second before the explosion. This line resembles Jinx’s usual drawl when she runs at full speed in the series, using the Shimmer that Singed injected into her in Season 1.
Then we have another big clue: when we see Caitlyn looking at the blueprints of a building, she notices the air ducts on the side. Smiling while holding part of Jinx’s grenade, Caitlyn seems to believe that Jinx escaped through these conduits and is probably still alive. And we also understand why Jinx doesn’t give any sign of life, she wants Vi to enjoy hers without worrying about her.
The final shots also suggest that Jinx is still alive. You may have noticed the classic Jinx text flashing “end” in the last image, but did you notice the reference to a Piltover ship? This is a shot very similar to the one in the very first episode of Arcane, where a young Powder said, “One day I’m going to ride in one of these machines.”
This could suggest that Jinx left Piltover to start a new life. Perhaps she will appear in a new region in the next series? Either way, it’s highly likely that she’s still alive.
02
What happened to Jayce and Viktor at the end of Arcane?
The fate of Jayce and Viktor is much less clear. After sacrificing themselves to stop the anomaly and save Piltover and Zaun, the two scientists disappear into thin air. Although they are apparently dead, we don’t see their bodies, which has obviously led to speculation.
Some fans believe that the two scientists may still be alive, but in a different timeline than the one experienced by Ekko, Heimerdinger and Jayce in episode 7, after being sucked into the anomaly. Either way, Riot has left room for Jayce and Viktor to return, but it’s hard to predict how.
03
Is Heimerdinger dead?
Good news, Heimer is also probably alive.
Although LoL was released 15 years ago, very little is known about Yordles, Heimerdinger’s species. However, Yordles are said to be immortal. Instead of dying, they reappear in their hometown of Bandle. Again, we know almost nothing about this region, other than that there are numerous portals that allow Yordles to travel throughout Runeterra.
It is therefore possible that Heimerdinger returns to Piltover. However, it is unclear in what timeline. At least wherever he is, you can be sure that the teacher will find new students to guide.
04
Is Ambessa gone for good?
Finally, we have easily verifiable information. Ambessa Medarda was killed by LeBlanc in the last episode, despite Mel’s efforts.
Given that she only just appeared in the game, Ambessa was the easiest choice. She doesn’t elicit the same emotional attachment as Vi or Warwick (who, thanks to his regenerative powers, is presumably still alive). Plus, since Ambessa was terrorizing solo players with her 3,000 dashes, most LoL players were probably happy to see her disappear.
But for those who really love Ambessa, you’re in luck. Her story is still far from over, since it will be the subject of a dedicated novel next year, entitled Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf.
And you should never say never. She could somehow be resurrected in Riot’s next series. There could be other shenanigans going on in the timeline or, remember, she’s allied with Singed, who just managed to bring his daughter back to life. This is a completely conceivable possibility.
05
Will there be new Arcane seasons?
To end the bad news, Riot Games has already confirmed that Arcane, as a series, is over. There will be no next season.
However, Riot also confirmed that they are already working on several new series and that development on the next one has been underway for a year.
Additionally, even though Arcane is over, Riot has clearly left the door open for its characters’ stories to continue. Both Singed and Mel will travel to Noxus. Orianna has just been introduced. Vi and Caitlyn will continue to fight to protect Piltover and Zaun. Jinx could appear and wreak havoc elsewhere.
There are plenty of opportunities for cameos, and some of the Arcane characters could see their story continue.

The Arcane Expanded Universe: Potential Regions for New Series
Riot Games has already confirmed that three new regions will receive special attention in the three upcoming series. In an interview with content creator Necrit, Arcane showrunner Christian Linke revealed that these are Noxus, Ionia and Demacia.
Arcane fans already know Noxus. It is a fearsome and brutal empire ruled by warlords and fighters hungry for power and expansion. As Ambessa said, Noxians believe that most problems can be solved on the battlefield.
Ionia is quite the opposite: a spiritual island where natural magic is omnipresent. However, in League of Legends lore, Noxus invades Ionia, we got a glimpse of it in the League of Legends Awaken cinematic video below.
This war will likely be the focal point of the next series. As we mentioned in our Act 3 predictions, Singed and Noxus’ continued partnership will lead to horrific events in Ionia, and that may be where Arcane’s ties to the new series begin .
For its part, Demacia is a kingdom that was created to serve as a refuge for magic. It has a historical rivalry with Noxus and the two nations have fought numerous wars against each other. Jarvan IV, who appears on a banner for a play in Arcane, becomes king after the death of his father. He could be the central character of a future series.
07
Rising Stars of Runeterra: Potential Characters for Upcoming Series
With three new regions to focus on, there are a ton of characters that could appear.
One of them has been strongly suggested, even confirmed, and that is Swain. He is a general who takes control of Noxus using the magical powers he received from a demon, Raum.
Crows appeared throughout the series, leading to speculation that Swain was closely monitoring events in Piltover and Zaun. We now know that this is indeed the case, since we saw his trademark three-eyed raven in the final moments of the series. This also suggests that he already has Raum’s powers, something that is supposed to happen after the invasion of Ionia begins, which could complicate the timeline of the next series.
Darius, one of the region’s most feared warriors, leads one of Swain’s main divisions. And if he appears, his arrogant gladiator brother Draven will certainly follow.
Arcane has already made reference to Riven, a champion who plays a central role in the clash between Ionia and Noxus. The green runes Ambessa uses to fight closely resemble the fragments of Riven’s Blade found in the Legends of Runeterra card game.
As for the Ionians, Irelia and Akali are popular and important characters for the invasion of Noxus. It is also possible that the plot concerns the ninjas Shen, Zed and Kennen of the Kinkou Order. We can also imagine that Riot will also want to integrate Ahri, another of its most popular champions.
Furthermore, anything related to Demacia will most certainly see the iconic siblings Garen and Lux appear. Their inclusion would be a great opportunity to see Sylas and the story of his rebellion against the kingdom and its anti-mage rhetoric.
08
What to do after completing Arcane?
It’s hard not to feel empty after finishing such a brilliant series, but the constant expansion of Riot’s world means there are plenty of other ways to enjoy Runeterra while you wait for the next series.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, LoL has an incredibly extensive lore, with stories about the game’s 169 champions all available for free on the official website.
Of course, you can also start playing LoL, the game that inspired Arcane and which has not lost popularity since its launch 15 years ago.
Finally, if you prefer to watch rather than play, the LoL esports scene might be perfect for you. To discover it, meet on December 15 at the Accor Arena in Paris for the Red Bull League of Its Own. On stage, the best team of all time, T1will face G2the Karmine Corp or even Gentle Mates.
