Wednesday morning, around twenty firefighters intervened on the public highway following the drilling of a pipe during survey work near the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
This gas leak then required the evacuation of the ticket office and the Greens museum. The repair of the pipeline was underway, but this Thursday, November 28, pockets of gas were still observed underground, with readings above the thresholds. The firefighters therefore intervened again in the area to ventilate the basements.

To facilitate emergency operations and ensure the safety of all, the City of Saint-Etienne had widened the security perimeter and on Thursday afternoon prohibited access to Etivallière, to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, to the stop of tram.
