Six trucks from the Gard Food Bank were set on fire in Nîmes on the evening of Wednesday November 27. Investigators confirm that it is a criminal act after viewing video surveillance.
Thursday, November 28, on one of the carcasses of trucks burned the previous evening in Nîmes (Gard), we can still read “Together, let's help man to restore himself”. The six refrigerated trucks of the department's Food Bank were destroyed. “I started crying like a kid, our entire fleet is disappearing, it’s almost 500,000 euros of investment”confides Joseph Pronesti, president of the Gard Food Bank.
The fire broke out on the evening of Wednesday November 27 in a parking lot in Nîmes. For investigators, this is undoubtedly a criminal act. CCTV footage reportedly shows a lone man setting fire to vehicles. These trucks were empty, but they were used on a daily basis to collect food donations from stores and redistribute them to local associations.
