New attack on cash conveyors in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (Val-d'Oise). Four months after a failed attempt, criminals this time succeeded in their attack, leaving with significant loot consisting of gold jewelry and estimated at 400 000 eurosthis Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
The commando took action around 11 a.m., in the Zac du Vert Gallant. The robbers waited until a van from the Temis companyspecializing in the transport of high-value products, stops in front of a jewelry manufacturing and sales company on rue André-Ampère.
Handgun and a tear gas bomb
While one of the conveyors was leaving the establishment in possession of a bag containing the goods to be transported, the criminals surprised him and threatened him with a handgun and a tear gas bomb. After snatching his property from his hands, they got back into a black car, before quickly fleeing. According to Actu17, two shots were fired by the robbers, although no injuries were reported.
While the police were dispatched in large numbers to the site, the investigation would have been entrusted to the banditry suppression brigade (BRB) of the judicial police of Versailles (Yvelines). This must in particular determine whether the conveyors had an accomplice within the companies which would have allowed them to be informed about this transport of gold.
A failed attack in June
On June 3, 2024, a similar attack had already been committed in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône. Three men had targeted a Temis company van carrying 10 kg of gold, worth 330,000 euros, in the Épluches district.
After collecting the goods from a company specializing in the manufacture of jewelry in order to deliver them to a workshop in Paris, the unmarked vehicle was going up Avenue Marcel-Dassault, when a utility vehicle overtook it before blocking its path.
Gunshots and “security bubble”
Two passengers, wearing overalls and dark glasses, then robbed the driver of the van who had rushes at the robbersthe latter opening fire two or three times, without however causing any injuries.
Despite a flat tire, the conveyors managed to free themselves and flee to the junction towards the N184 where they were taken care of by the police. Immediately, an Épervier plan was launched by the gendarmes in order to track down the fleeing criminals, without success. Here again, the investigation was entrusted to the banditry suppression brigade (Brb) of the Versailles judicial police.
