Six refrigerated trucks were destroyed by a fire on the evening of November 27 in Nîmes. The trucks were empty. The president of the Food Bank deplores this disaster.

Around twenty firefighters were engaged on Wednesday November 27, around 9 p.m., on a truck fire in the market station sector in Nîmes.

Six food bank refrigerated trucks which were empty were destroyed in this fire. Three cars and another heavy goods vehicle were affected by the fire. There were no injuries.

The president of the Food Bank Joseph Pronesti deplores this disaster: “Two years ago, our six vehicles were visited, the driver and passenger side windows were broken and the vehicles searched. […] I will look for a solution to continue collecting and serve our partner associations.”

In any case, it is a big blow for the Food Bank which has just organized its large collection in supermarkets and helps many associations in Gard. The association’s management will file a complaint.
