Seeded No. 3, Félix, semi-finalist last year, is still the favorite for this first round. With a fairly open part of the table, the native of Montpellier could find the No. 1 in the WTT ranking, Wang Chuqin, in the semi-finals. On the other side, Alexis Lebrun will face Lin Yun-Ju, seeded n°8 and above all the defending champion in Frankfurt. In the event of victory, he would meet Marcos Freitas, the Portuguese who was his bête noire, before beating him in a controversial match in Montpellier.
