Gaza: IDF Eliminates Senior Hamas Official Who Operated From School

The Israeli army announced Wednesday morning that it had killed Mumin Al-Jabari, a senior official in the sniper unit of Hamas’ Gaza City Brigade. The operation took place in a room at the former Al-Tabaeen school, now used as an operational base by the terrorist organization. According to the IDF spokesperson, the strike was carried out by the Israeli Air Force on the basis of intelligence provided by the army and the Shin Beth (internal security services). “Al-Jabari directed and carried out terrorist attacks against IDF troops in the Gaza Strip and stored a large quantity of weapons in the room where he operated,” the statement said.

Last August, the Israeli army had already struck this same building, used as an active shelter, eliminating more than 30 terrorists from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

“This is a new example of the systematic exploitation by Islamic Jihad of civilian infrastructure and the civilian population as a human shield for its terrorist activities,” underlines the Israeli army, which claims to have taken “numerous measures to minimize the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance and supplemental intelligence.”

Over the weekend, Israeli forces also killed Ahmad Abd el-Halim Abu Hussein, who was responsible for firing rockets from Hamas’ West Jabaliya Battalion. “Abu Hussein was responsible for numerous rocket and mortar attacks against Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers operating in the Gaza Strip,” the army said. Among the other terrorists eliminated was Muhammad Abd al-Rahman Muhammad Zakout, who had participated in the October 7 massacres in Israeli territory.
