The images are impressive. Departmental road 982, route du Havre, at the Tancarville bridge, has been covered in water since 12 p.m. this Wednesday, November 27, 2024, causing subsidence of the roadway.
Traffic is interrupted in both directions (between the motorway roundabout and the industrial road roundabout, as well as in rue du Nais) and diversions have been put in place.
This closure causes significant traffic jams on this portion of the road frequently frequented by users wishing to reach Lillebonne or the A131 motorway.
Our colleagues from Courrier Cauchois also report that a truck, trapped by water, had to be evacuated, and that several residential garages had been affected.
The Seine-Maritime gendarmerie confirms that they are still on site to secure the area. A security perimeter has been deployed and teams are trying to stop the leak.
It was a burst pipe that caused this major flooding. The cause of this rupture, however, remains to be determined. For the moment, no deadline for reopening traffic has been communicated.
